Mutoh has released two 1.62m piezo drop-on-demand roll-fed sign and display inkjet printers, the XpertJet 1641SR and the XpertJet 1682SR.

Both presses have been developed and manufactured in Japan. The 1641SR is a single head four colour model, whilst the 1682SR is a dual staggered head model capable of seven colour set-up.

The printers are intended for high-quality, cost-effective production of sign and display graphics, long term outdoor applications and durable prints for indoor use. Potential applications include posters, backlit signs, wall coverings, point-of-sale displays, fine art reproduction prints, vehicle graphics, window graphics and self-adhesive stickers.

‘Mutoh has been a pioneer in sign and display printers since 2004,’ said Kenji Yasuhara, Mutoh Europe’s managing director. ‘XpertJet is already our fifth generation of sign and display printers. They are the successors of our multi-award winning ValueJet 1624X and ValueJet 1638X printers.

‘The XPJ-1641SR and XPJ-1682SR offer an excellent balance between the capacity for speed production print work and top quality print work. The new additional Lc, Lm and Lk colours of our new MS-41 series ink set will also bring extra quality to businesses focusing on highest quality prints with smooth skin tones and gradients for short viewing distances.

‘In line with our company-wide commitment to create continuous improvement and innovation, the robustly built printers feature proven and industry leading Mutoh technology. They are also packed with multiple product enhancements to provide sign professionals unrivalled print quality, the highest degree of user comfort and reliability for many years to come.’
