A year after investing in the UK’s first Renz Inline 500 Compact, Ace Binding has installed a Renz Inline 500 Classic fully automatic punching and binding machine.

Rob Hart, director of the Birmingham operation, explained, ‘We took the decision to invest in the Inline 500 Compact because demand for wire binding meant we were having to run a lot of overtime shifts. It addressed that immediately and paid for itself in six months.

‘Then demand grew again, we even got to the point where we were having to turn work away. Renz recommended the next system up – the Inline 500 Classic. It has more than doubled our capacity.’

The punching and ring wire binding line is suitable for books, calendars and skip binding and can produce a wide range of formats. Options are available for integrated cover turning, automatic machine setting storage and an automated cross stacking system.

Mr Hart continued,’It is faster and allows us to be more versatile with the size and thickness of books and calendars. We are finding customers are increasingly requesting bespoke products which it can easily handle.’
