PrintByte has implemented remote support and troubleshooting capabilities for its customers with Develop digital presses and MFPs, via technology that also supports MGI embellishment press users.

The Remote Panel service allows troubleshooting and device configuration without requiring site visits, allowing test modes to be run from a laptop and service mode settings to be changed remotely, but without requiring customers to install or open any additional software on their PCs or networks, though a secure HTTP configuration is initially required for each installed device.

Once this is done, PrintByte support staff can remotely operate the device in question as if they were standing in front of it, requiring only a PIN from the customer to enable access for reconfiguration or troubleshooting operations. ‘It gives clients an easy connection for remote diagnostics and allows them the ability to fix issues without unnecessary travel, said PrintByte director Paul Franklin. ‘We believe it adds unique value to our clients, offsets carbon emissions, keeps Covid-19 measures more manageable and has huge positive outcomes to the clients performance with our technology,’ he added.

The Remote Panel capability supports the Develop Ineo range of devices, including its production print line, and also MGI digital embellishment presses, such as those installed at Hertford Offset and Bexons Printers in Nottingham. Mr Franklin also says PrintByte has plans to install Remote Panel at Perfect Bindery Solutions’ showrooms as part of a demonstration facility that will include an MGI unit.
