Konica Minolta has launched the AccurioPress 6272P monochrome toner production press, which offers over 250ppm via a tandem print engine arrangement and is targeted at commercial printers, print-for-pay services and inplant printing facilities.

The dual-engine technology is a further development of the well-established AccurioPress 613P, where two engines are connected via the TD-502 tandem relay unit to double the throughput in high volume monochrome printing environments.

Independent front-to-back alignment and a distortion adjustment function are said to ensure accurate duplex registration, while the optional IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Care Unit should provide consistent and stable quality. The press’s standard paper cooling system enables all output to be finished offline immediately after printing.

A newly developed pass-through mode secures production in the event of a machine error. With the TD-502 relay unit, existing AccurioPress 6136P customers can upgrade it to that of the AccurioPress 6272P, doubling productivity.

Other features of the AccurioPress 6272P include vacuum paper feeding, with an optional heating unit. Simitri HD toner is used to ensure high image quality and reproduction of text and line drawings.

The press supports paper weights from 40 to 350gsm in sizes up to 324x483mm. A stacking unit and a wide variety of finishing options with an interface to third-parties such as Plockmatic and GBC are also available. The press is driven by KM’s own DFEs, complemented by the company’s range of software.

Malcolm Smith, category manager of Production & Industrial Print, Konica Minolta UK stated, ‘Many years of knowledge and global expertise are combined in the TD-502 tandem relay unit to ensure that this system fulfils customer demands in high-volume printing environments. The Konica Minolta AccurioPress 6272P will provide another key pillar in our growing production press portfolio for our customers to maximise and ignite the print opportunities that are everywhere.’
