Premier has confirmed that it is launching the ‘Young Explorers’, a new campaign which will see companies that order significant amounts of its Explorer paper given the opportunity to reward local primary schools.

The campaign, which will run throughout February, March and April, will provide companies with the chance to nominate schools to receive a set of 10 pairs of wellies and 10 sets of waterproofs as part of The Outdoor Guide’s Waterproofs & Wellies Project. The aim of the project is to help make outdoor learning available, fun and inclusive for all children, irrespective of their background.

Matthew Fisher, Premier’s sales director for office papers commented on the new initiative. ‘Introducing Explorer from the Navigator Company is an exciting development and extends the choice of products from Premier’s office papers portfolio,’ he said. ‘The launch of the Young Explorers Promotion will also give us the opportunity to support the Outdoor Guide Foundation with their waterproof and wellies campaign to provide sets of outdoor clothing to every primary school in the UK and make exploring the outdoors accessible to all.’

The Outdoor Guide Foundation says that the overall aim of its project is to see ‘children from all backgrounds getting outside and enjoying the natural wonders that are all around them and enabling them to learn about and enjoy the outdoors.’ It considers this of particular importance given the health benefits of spending time outdoors and The World Health Organisation’s warning of a looming mental health crisis brought on by the pandemic.

The Outdoor Guide’s Waterproofs & Wellies Project is being supported by CBeebies television presenter Gemma Hunt, with Ms Hunt joining the companies to present the waterproofs and wellies to the nominated schools and their young explorers.
