Rodona Industria Gráfica, a Pamplona-based PSP specialising in publishing, has installed Spain’s first HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD. The company, which already operated HP inkjet technology, opted for the new machine in order to meet new market challenges in the publishing space.

The company, which has been in business for more than 10 years, was looking to increase production capacity in a bid to meet new demands from its customers as well as to equip itself with technology that would differentiate it from competitors.

The new web press joins an existing HP PageWide T370 HD, which has been in operation at Rodona since 2010. It has a maximum print width of 520mm and is described as ‘ideally suited to printing educational books,’ one of Rodona’s main markets. It also makes use of HP Brilliant Ink, which enables ‘high-quality, full colour reproduction’ on on conventional paper.

Rodona says that it is committed to protecting the environment, only using paper from sustainable sources, so the responsible use of ink and minimising paper waste are vital to its business ethos.

Alberto Senosisain, CEO at Rodona, commented on his company’s latest investment, ‘HP inkjet web presses are the printing solution we have chosen to develop our business,’ the CEO said. ‘In 2010 we opted for the HP T-300 because we saw that it was the best option available on the market, and today, with the evolution of inks and printheads, there’s no change in that respect as we are opting for HP for our second press.’
