Esser DruckSolutions has become the first company in Europe to install two of HP’s high-end presses simultaneously. The company, which is based in Ergolding, Bavaria has added an Indigo 100K and a PageWide Web Press T250 HD to its portfolio.

Founded in 2020 as a sister-company to Esser printSolutions, Esser DruckSolutions has installed the machines in order to improve its web-to-print offering and bring added value to the wider Esser Group.

‘Our first contact with HP dates back to 2004, when we invested in our first HP Indigo 3050 for Esser printSolutions, and over the years we have made additional investments,’ explained senior executive Diana Esser. ‘In 2014, we were one of the first PSPs to adopt roll-to-roll inkjet printing with the HP PageWide Web Press T230, followed by the upgrade to the T240 HD in 2017. The partnership with HP has grown continuously in recent years and it’s always been based on consistency and trust.’

The Indigo 100K will allow the company to produce work for the commercial and photo book printing sectors. The machine’s ability to print non-stop, which is made possible by five feeders, and its ability to print 6000 B2 sheets per our, were huge selling points for Esser DruckSolutions.

Meanwhile the PageWide T250 HD will be used primarily to produce books and operating manuals for industrial customers. Esser DruckSolutions was particularly attracted by the printer’s speed, up to 152m/min per, and its ‘enhanced print quality’ which is achieved with HP Brilliant Inks, specially developed for use with coated and uncoated offset media.

‘The installation of two high-end solutions at the same time is special for us and both systems complementing each other extremely well,’ Ms Esser concluded. ‘The use of the two new HP digital presses offers many advantages, especially for book printing, as the inner section can be produced on the HP PageWide T250 HD and the cover on the HP Indigo 100K.

‘HP as a supplier has a real unique selling point that can adequately serve all applications with both systems. For us, it is not a single feature that is pivotal, but the overall package of both systems that ultimately convinced us to expand our fleet of HP digital printing machines.’
