Signs Express (Nottingham) has invested in an Epson SureColor SC S80600, supplied by RGB UK, as it moves to streamline production, enhance efficiency and improve quality.

A franchisee in the wider Signs Express group, Signs Express (Nottingham) was founded seven years ago and has grown to count Nottingham Trent University and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club amongst its customers.

The franchise says that it was a rise in demand for wide-format work drove its decision to invest in the 64in Epson SureColor SC-S80600.

Mikey Walker, workshop and fabrications manager in Nottingham, explained, ‘Our previous Roland VersaWorks 540 printer could print widths up to 1250mm but that meant there were joins in any printed panels larger than the 1250mm. So, we looked around at other printers with a larger bed. We chose the Epson SureColor SC-S80600 after it was recommended by another Signs Express franchise.

‘The main advantage for us was the fact the Epson prints on media up to 1550mm wide which is now a staple of our production. It is a lot quicker with the double heads fitted and its multiple pass modes. Also important was the fact it had the front and back take up rollers as standard.’
