Intec has supplied a series printing and finishing machines to Ancestors of Dover, a Kent-based firm specialising in the research, design, development and manufacture of products for the heritage industry.

Managing director Nick Humphrey-Smith was looking to streamline production at his Folkestone premises, opting for Intec equipment after being impressed during a demonstration of its ColorSplash, ColorFlare and ColorCut products. He has since installed a ColorSplash CS4000 digital printer, a ColorFlare CF1200LX foiler/laminator and a ColorCut FB8000PRO cutter/creaser.

‘Our current success just wouldn’t be possible without the new kit from Intec,’ Mr Humphry-Smith said. ‘We are all delighted with the ColorCut FB8000PRO. The price point was sensible with a short payback period and it has taken away so much time-consuming and laborious effort. Plus the quality of all the cuts and creases is absolutely perfect.’

Benefits of the installations include an increase in the amount of work the company can take on, which has led to more staff being hired, the ability to produce work on-demand and in short runs, as well as the launch of new product lines including a range of king and queen inspired face masks.

‘Intec has revolutionised everything,’ Mr Humphry-Smith concluded. ‘It’s like a quantum leap! Having the freedom to print any quantities we require at any time, apply lamination and foiling, and then cut and crease to absolutely any shape – all on the same morning and then ship out that afternoon – this has been a game changer and given us a real cutting edge for future success.’
