Ricoh has unveiled a large format UV flatbed printer, the Pro TF6250. Offering a 2.5 x 1.3m print area, the new model is aimed at the sign and display, graphic arts and industrial sectors where a choice of inks will allow it to address new industrial and internal decoration, packaging, screen printing and personalisation market opportunities.

Built on the same industrial structure as the Pro T7210, released in the UK last year, the printer uses Ricoh’s drop-on-demand printheads and features one-touch automated daily maintenance. It comes with a moving carriage and gantry, operates at speeds of up to  64.6sqm/hr and can accommodate substrates of 110mm in thickness.

‘The Ricoh Pro TF6250 allows operators to hit the ground running and produce high impact products for their clients,’ said Graham Kennedy, head of commercial inkjet business, commercial and industrial printing, Ricoh Europe.

‘In large format, the difference between an application that stands out, and one that does not, often comes down to the inks that deliver the highest quality with adherence to a wide variety of substrates such as wood, metal and glass as well as standard sign and display materials such as forex, d-bond and acrylic boards. That is why we have developed two UV ink sets. Pro TF6250 users will be able to choose an ink type designed to assure high colour gamut for the sign and graphic market or an ink type with high adhesion ideal for industrial applications.’
