An improved drying capability is the key feature of the Truepress Jet 520HD+ that Screen will be featuring at Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne next month.

Already installed at Bluetree in Rotherham, the TPJ 520HD+ as the updated model is called adds NIR (near infra red) drying technology to the ‘air blade’ to provide very rapid drying of the ink without overly drying the paper and so maintain high production speeds. The improved drying performance is said by Screen to allow a wider range of stock to be used with the press.

In conjunction with Screen’s SC inks, which allow inkjet printing on offset coated stocks without requiring any pre-treatment, this extends the range of papers that can be printed at commercial quality and at high speed, which should expand the range of applications for the 1200dpi press.

Screen will also feature the Truepress Jet 520NX at the Hunkeler event. This version of the 150m/min press has a fifth colour which can be used with the company’s UV invisible ink or other special colours for security and anti-counterfeiting applications.

Bui Burke, senior vice president of sales at Screen Europe, said, ‘HID is always a highlight in Screen’s calendar, so we’re delighted the Truepress Jet520HD+ and NIR Dryer will debut at the event. Once again, Screen digital technology is at the forefront of innovation, resulting in market-leading speed, productivity and uptime.’
