Howard Hunt has purchased an HP PageWide T240 web inkjet press. The acquisition has been made in order to help the company further diversify its direct mail service portfolio and meet increasing demand from customers.

‘Today’s marketers understand the importance of one-to-one conversations with their customers. Marketers want to use more content marketing tactics, social media platforms, and most importantly relevant messaging,’ said managing director Danny Clarke.

‘In the current economic climate much of our customer base are cost-conscious organisations that need to focus on their causes, not spending too much on marketing but achieving the same if not better results. In an effort to assist them in improving results in a cost-effective manner we are investing in state-of-the-art inkjet technology. We have seen our customers’ data quality improve considerably over the last five to 10 years.’

Deploying the new technology will allow Howard Hunt to enhance the value of direct mail, while reducing costs for volume printing, transition to a ‘white paper’ solution and produce a more micro-segmented, personalised and, ultimately, effective product. The PageWide T240 HD has a print width of up to 521mm and prints at up to 152m/min with a maximum duty cycle of 58 million A4 pages per month.

‘We believe the purchase of a high-speed, continuous-feed inkjet press will be transformational in direct mail printing operations and complement our state-of-the-art printing division,’ said MrClarke. ‘The investment enables us to continue to embody our core values whilst simultaneously pushing the company in new directions that align us with what the customer wants. This investment in Howard Hunt’s print technology will be fundamental to our future growth and success.’
