The new machine is built on the same platform as Inca’s Onset X Series and SpyderX

At FESPA next month Inca Digital will introduce its new B1 format printer as an alternative short-run inkjet solution to the offset, screen and industrial printing markets.

‘This is our response to the market’s need for a robust B1 inkjet solution capable of printing shorter runs on demand without compromise,’ announced John Mills, CEO of Inca. ‘The productivity and quality of the new platform will give commercial and screen printers the confidence to take lower volume work off their commercial printers, increasing overall productivity and opening up potential new revenue streams in the process.’

The eight-channel B1 will be initially targeted at the POP and commercial print markets. It will also be suitable for applications that are too thick to be printed on offset.

The new platform has a fully automated system complete with feeder and stacker, a modular lay table and collection tray. It features Fujifilm small drop, 7 ng print heads for crisp 4 pt text and smooth colours, along with optical printhead alignment and calibration systems. Two-stage UV curing using UV-LED pinning on the carriage keeps heat sensitive substrates cool during the printing and a UV tunnel assists adhesion and durability, while technologies such as recirculating printheads, automated printhead cleaning and collision avoidance are designed to help with the machine’s longevity and quality of output.

The new machine is planned to be distributed globally by both Inca and Fujifilm, and will be appearing on the Fujifilm stand at FESPA.
