Some Mimeo customers specifically request Nexpress output

Print-on-demand provider Mimeo has produced over a billion pages using a number of Kodak Nexpresses since buying its first in 2006.

Headquartered in New York, Mimeo operates four print sites in the US, the UK and Germany, offering print-on-demand solutions and next-day delivery around the world. In 2006 the company invested in three Kodak Nexpress digital production colour presses to meet demand for shorter runs and a greater variety of applications and substrates. Mimeo’s printing hubs are now powered by a fleet of 15 Nexpress machines and have recently passed the one billion milestone for pages printed.

‘The Nexpress met critical requirements for our business then and now,’ said Andrew Nied, Mimeo’s chief supply chain officer, justifying the decision to stay with the Kodak line. ‘It produces consistent quality across a wide range of jobs with nearly uninterrupted uptime and is easy to maintain.

‘Colour quality is especially critical for this part of our business, and we have customers that specifically request that we use the Nexpress Press to service their photo orders,’ said Mr Nied. ‘It’s a fantastic product all around for photo printing, with excellent ability to produce in-demand features like a matt finish and clear coat.’
