The eBook explores GDPR and what the new regulations can do for printers

South Yorkshire trade printer Route One Print has created a free downloadable printer’s guide to GDPR.

GDPR comes into effect on 25 May 2018, bringing in new legislation about how companies can collect, store and use personal data. It affects all businesses and failing to meet the new requirements could result in large fines. Route One Print’s latest eBook is intended to help print businesses prepare so that they don’t get caught out.

Brand manager, Jack Wilmott, said, ‘This eBook is designed to clarify the aspects of GDPR that are relevant to printers and to provide actionable objectives to help them get ready.’

The eBook explores each element of GDPR; from how to collect personal data and gain true consent, to what rights the consumer has over their own data. Each explanation comes with a breakdown of what it means for printers and a checklist of actions that need to be taken as a result.

It also looks at what GDPR can do for printers. As the rules for online marketing get stricter, new opportunities for printers are becoming apparent.

Mr Wilmott added, ‘We predict that printers are in for a boost as a consequence of GDPR. Companies looking for an alternative to email marketing will come to printers looking to produce more direct mail campaigns and other print marketing.’

Route One Print’s parent group, Bluetree Group, was recently named one of 12 national winners from 196 businesses representing the “Ones to Watch” in the UK at an event held at the London Stock Exchange for The European Business Awards.

Bluetree Group was chosen by a panel of independent judges as the best in its country in The Business of the Year Award. It will now go on to represent the UK in the final stage of the competition in the turnover of €26-150 million category.
