Ricoh’s VC60000 is set to benefit from the ink and tuning enhancements

New ink formulations and printhead development are set to bring the ability to print without priming on offset stocks, a wider colour gamut and higher production speeds to Ricoh’s Pro VC60000 high-speed continuous-feed inkjet press.

Ricoh says the new inks and fine-tuning of printhead specifications will be available as an option to existing and new users of the VC60000.  The new pigment inks are said to offer similar durability, water fastness, and print head reliability to Ricoh’s current inks.

An improved colour gamut is made possible by more vivid primary colours and a richer black. Printing speed on coated substrates will increase to support higher production volumes involved in offset-to-digital page migration.

‘Our clients have been very successful levering Ricoh’s production inkjet solutions in their businesses. They have also continued to partner with us in developing new technology that will enhance the solutions they have invested in, and offer them clear growth paths for the future,’ said Eef de Ridder, director, Commercial Printing of the Commercial & Industrial Printing Group, Ricoh Europe.

‘Ricoh’s new inks are an excellent example of innovation addressing real world business opportunities through improved colour, faster production speeds, and enabling the use of common paper types in the commercial print space.’

Ricoh did not state when the new technology will be available other than “soon”.
