Visitors will have access to the company’s entire range of machinery

Keen to introduce its version of Print 4.0, Kama will be hosting open days from 18-21 June at its headquarters in Dusseldorf. The event will be split across two areas – commercial finishing and packaging, and Friedheim will be taking a handful of UK customers to the event to join printers from across the UK taking part in the Kama Application Days.

Visitors will have access to the company’s entire range of machinery with demonstrations of the fully equipped ProCut 76 Foil die-cutter with foiling module in-line with the ProFold 74 folder gluer for folding, gluing and dispensing. Applications for packaging will showcase the new folder gluer for folded cartons, Kama FF 52i, also in-line with another ProCut 76 FOIL. Kama will be highlighting the fast changeover between different folding carton formats.

On the software side, Kama’s new Job Manager tool is part of the company’s implementation of Print 4.0. It receives all available job data from the prepress department – including the print PDF plus metadata such as number of sheets, substrate, tools – and saves them together with the machine settings. The Job Manager then calculates the SBU settings and optimum foil feed and sends them to the machine. While the job is running, it collects all relevant data from the machines and transmits them to the MIS in real time.

Once the job is done, Job Manager saves all data and machine settings and sends a report to the MIS. The complete job data is then immediately available for repeat orders.

Prospective UK customers interested in attending the open days should contact Freidheim in the first instance.
