‘The HP Indigo 50000 is the next step in the evolution of our Indigo-based photo printing business.’ – Tristan Money, chief executive, Albelli

European photo products company Albumprinter has installed an HP Indigo 50000 press to expand its production with “the industry’s highest volume digital solution for photo printing”.

The oversized B1 roll-to-roll press is said by HP to be the first in this productivity class for photo printing in Europe. Running at Albumprinter’s  production facility in The Hague, it is increasing capacity and efficiency for the company’s photo brands that serve the European market.

These brands include UK’s Bonusprint and Albelli in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Belgium. It recently acquired Resnap, a startup with an app using artificial intelligence selecting the best pictures to create a photo album in just a few minutes.

‘The HP Indigo 50000 is the next step in the evolution of our Indigo-based photo printing business. We invested in our first Indigo in 2007,’ said Albelli chief executive Tristan Money. ‘With the Indigo 50000, Albumprinter is capable of printing digitally in B1 format, double sided. This format opens up a new world of applications and imposition efficiencies, which are not possible on any other Indigo press.’

Other HP Indigo presses in the Albumprinter fleet include the Indigo 12000, W7250 and 6600p models, the latter added for layflat books. The company installed its first B2 12000 in 2017.
