Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems (KNIS) has completed the first North American installation of its Belharra high-speed photo printing system, with the press now in full production at Canadian photo printing company Les Pros de la Photo in Montreal
The installation marks another milestone for the Belharra platform, arriving only a few months after its commercial launch. It is also the first deployment of the system on the North American continent, supporting KNIS’ international expansion strategy.
According to the company, the Belharra system has been running in production for several months, producing tens of thousands of photographs each day for distribution across Canada. The investment enables Les Pros de la Photo to support demand for high-quality photo products while maintaining fast turnaround times.
Belharra has been developed for high-volume photo printing and combines Kyocera inkjet printheads with KNIS’ printer expertise. The company said the system is designed to deliver high image quality, productivity and operational efficiency for photo production laboratories.

KNIS said the installation provides a foundation for further international deployments of the Belharra platform as wholesale photo finishing laboratories continue transitioning from silver halide technology to inkjet production.
