Paragon has announced that its global chief technology officer (CTO), Stephen Lester, has passed away following a brief illness.

Mr Lester passed away last week surrounded by family, according to the company.

A senior technology leader with more than two decades of experience in communications technology and data-driven solutions, Mr Lester most recently served as Global CTO at Paragon, where he was responsible for the company’s technology strategy and transformation initiatives.

Earlier this year, he presented a three-year technology vision to the board, outlining a strategic roadmap intended to support the organisation’s long-term growth and innovation agenda. Paragon said work on the strategy will continue.

Prior to joining Paragon’s global leadership team, Mr Lester served as chief technology officer at Paragon Customer Communications UKIL, where he played a key role in the company’s digital and technology development. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions including solutions director at DST Output, overseeing the design and delivery of data-driven communications solutions for enterprise customers.

Throughout his career, Mr Lester worked across consulting, communications optimisation and technology-led transformation, helping organisations improve customer engagement and operational performance.

In a statement, Paragon described Mr Lester as a collaborative leader with strong technical expertise who made a significant contribution to the business and its customers.

Colleagues also paid tribute to his personality and presence in the workplace, remembering his humour, energy and ability to build strong relationships across teams.

Paragon extended its condolences to Mr Lester’s family and loved ones.
