Scottish Borders-based Richardson and Son Printers has increased productivity by 25% following the installation of a Ricoh Pro C7500.
The family-run commercial print business, founded in 1946 and based in Hawick, specialises in both spot colour litho and full-colour digital printing, as well as large format and finishing services. The investment in the latest Ricoh device marks a continuation of the firm’s relationship with the manufacturer, which began in 2018 with the purchase of a Ricoh Pro C9100.
The new C7500 brings updated technical features and a streamlined user interface that enables quicker operator changes. According to Richardson and Son director Jamie Richardson, the transition has allowed the company to shift more litho work to digital, improving turnaround times and enabling it to take on additional jobs.
“By investing in the Ricoh Pro C7500, we were able to transition higher quantities of litho work to digital print,” said Mr Richardson. “This enabled us to achieve a faster turnaround, improved support for shorter print runs and take on additional work. Ultimately, it boosted our production capacity and earning potential.”
Ernest Blackadder, business development manager, RGC at Ricoh UK, added: “We are proud to be a long-standing partner of Richardson and Son Printers and to support their drive for increased productivity and efficiency.”
The installation reflects ongoing investment in digital print to meet evolving customer expectations and increase operational efficiency, said the company.
