Alabama-based BPI Media Group has enhanced its production capabilities with the installation of a second Durst wide-format press. The company opted for the Durst P5 350 HS to replace its earlier P10 unit. The decision reflects both a longstanding relationship with Durst and the company’s strategic focus on quality, speed and efficiency, said BPI.
“When adding a new piece of equipment to our location, we wanted something with high speed and print quality, something that would separate us from our competition,” said Alan Davis, president of BPI Media Group. “This is our second Durst press… replacing [the P10] with a P5 was an easy decision.”
The P5 350 HS is a hybrid printer capable of handling media up to 3.5m wide, with throughput speeds up to 708sqm/hr. The machine offers dual-roll functionality and ability to print quickly on rigid materials. BPI stated that these features will support its growth and increase capacity for point-of-purchase (POP) programmes.
Customer satisfaction has also played a role in validating the investment. “The reliability of the print quality and uptime of the Durst makes production easy, and gives our customers confidence,” Mr Davis noted.
Durst’s director of wide format and textiles in North America, Matt Loede, highlighted the strength of the companies’ relationship: “We’ve had the privilege to partner with BPI for six years… the P5 350 HS perfectly fits their expanded production demands.”
