Eight Group has become the first UK print business to install the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1e digital B2 inkjet press.
The Nottingham-based company is leveraging the press’ print quality, colour accuracy, and sustainability credentials as part of a £1.2 million investment in its production facilities. The investment also saves around £125,000 in previously outsourced large-format work.
According to Konica Minolta, the AccurioJet KM-1e delivers offset-class quality, high substrate flexibility, and rapid turnaround times without the typical B2 complexities. It is supported by Konica Minolta’s AccurioPro Flux Premium and Dashboard software for streamlined workflows and real-time performance insights. The KM-1e joins Eight Group’s existing Konica Minolta fleet, including the AccurioPress C12000e and the C14000, expanding its capacity and opening doors to new markets like personalised packaging and commercial print.
CEO of Eight Group Lance Hill commented: “This press allows us to bring short-run, high-quality large format work in-house. We’re keeping more revenue internally while increasing control and speed to market.”
Jon Hiscock of Konica Minolta UK added: “This is a pivotal moment for UK B2 print. Our partnership with Eight Group exemplifies how collaboration and innovation drive industry transformation.”
