Antalis McNaughton has launched a certification service for its CarbonNeutral Certified Paper, which enables customers to offset the carbon dioxide emissions associated with paper production and distribution.

The certification includes all the carbon dioxide emissions from paper making and delivery to customers. Customers receive a license to use the CarbonNeutral Certified Paper label on the papers they have offset and they can also promote two carbon offset projects that Antalis McNaughton has chosen, which are underpinned by The CarbonNeutral Protocol. They will also receive a certificate for the carbon offset paper.  The chosen projects are the Tieling Methane Capture and the Uchindile-Mapanda Forest project in Tanzania.

Products now available with CarbonNeutral certification include Cocoon, Cyclus Offset, Digigreen and Trucard.

Matthew Botfield, environment manager, said: ‘Sustainability is a key challenge for paper mills and merchants. Increasing customer demand has seen a rise in paper brands looking for environmental solutions that go beyond raw materials. Going CarbonNeutral complements existing accreditations and provides our customers with a means to reduce their carbon footprint to net zero, set stretching reduction targets, enhance their brand and maintain their competitive edge.’
