Monadnock Paper Mills has introduced Stello, a paper line positioned as an alternative to traditional eggshell and smooth premium papers. The company said the product is currently available in eggshell and smooth finishes and is intended for a variety of commercial print applications.

For many years, premium print projects have relied on eggshell paper stocks known for their tactile finish and print quality, said the company. However, some long-established paper options have become associated with longer lead times, higher minimum order quantities, and reduced availability.

According to Monadnock, Stello is available directly from the mill in both finishes, providing options for printers and designers working on projects including commercial print, direct mail, marketing materials, and brand communications.

The company said the paper features a refined surface and a brightness rating of 98, characteristics intended to support colour contrast and ink performance. Monadnock also described Stello as compatible with both offset and digital presses, including certification from HP for runnability, ink adhesion, and blanket compatibility.

Stello is currently offered in 80lb and 100lb text weights, as well as 65lb, 115lb, and 130lb cover weights, according to the company.

“Stello is designed for printers and designers who expect beautiful presentation without compromising performance,” said Chloe Jones, director of marketing and communications at Monadnock Paper Mills. “With its refined eggshell finish and dependable print performance, it delivers the tactile quality and consistency today’s projects demand.”

Monadnock said Stello is manufactured at a facility with several sustainability-related certifications and initiatives, including EcoVadis Platinum certification, Forest Stewardship Council certification, and operations under an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system. The company also said its products are manufactured using renewable wind-powered electricity supported through renewable energy credits and are produced carbon neutral through verified emissions reduction investments.

Monadnock said the product line is intended to offer greater flexibility through lower minimum orders and shorter turnaround times compared with some traditional premium paper suppliers.

The company added that additional envelope stock-keeping units (SKUs) are planned as part of an expansion of the Stello line.
