Cut Print Solutions has installed a Veloblade Nexus cutting system from Vivid to address growing pressure in its finishing department as the business continues to expand.

Founded three years ago, Cut Print Solutions provides a mix of large and small format print services across a broad range of applications. As volumes increased, the company began to experience bottlenecks in cutting, with the variety of substrates and jobs limiting throughput and scalability.

Following recommendations from industry peers, the business arranged a demonstration of the Veloblade Nexus, which led to the investment. According to the company, the system’s ability to handle a wide range of day-to-day cutting tasks without compromising accuracy was a key factor in the decision.

Since installation, Cut Print Solutions reports improvements in efficiency and turnaround times, particularly in roll-to-roll poster cutting, where automated workflows have reduced cutting times from hours to minutes. The system has also enabled the business to expand into new applications, including die-cut and kiss-cut stickers, rigid boards, life-size cut-outs, Di-bond signage, and custom packaging boxes.

Stephen Downey, director at Cut Print Solutions, said: “We were blown away by the versatility and accuracy of the Nexus. The implementation of the Veloblade Nexus delivered an immediate and transformative impact, significantly improving efficiency and production speed.”

Mr Downey added: “We could not be happier with our Veloblade Nexus. It has far exceeded our expectations, and the Vivid team are always on hand to help out.”

The company says it is now using the majority of the Nexus’ capabilities, allowing it to take on more work, deliver faster turnaround times, and broaden its overall product offering as demand continues to grow.
