Xerox has introduced the Xerox IJP900 Inkjet Press, marking its return to the mid-volume inkjet segment. The new press is designed for print service providers and in-plant operators looking to expand into areas such as transactional printing and direct mail.

“The mid-volume inkjet market is expanding quickly, creating a clear opportunity for Xerox to re-enter with strength,” said Terry Antinora, senior vice president and head of product and engineering at Xerox. “Clients are looking for smarter, more accessible solutions, and the IJP900 delivers by combining robust inkjet technology with our proven strengths in workflow, automation, and service.”

The IJP900 integrates into Xerox’s broader production print ecosystem, working with tools such as Xerox FreeFlow workflow automation, XMPie personalised communications, and AI-assisted workflow technologies. These systems are intended to reduce manual tasks, speed up job preparation, and offer real-time operational insights, all contributing to lower production costs and improved output.

Capable of printing up to 150 A4 pages per minute, the press is designed to handle monthly volumes between 250,000 and one million impressions. It produces business-quality colour output with a resolution of up to 600 x 1200dpi, using water-based pigment inks for stable colour and precise registration. Built for operational efficiency, the IJP900 includes automated printhead cleaning, a built-in dust removal system, and duplex printing capabilities on media up to 360gsm – all without requiring specialised infrastructure.

The press supports a range of substrates, from 52 to 360gsm, including plain, uncoated, super smooth, and inkjet-treated papers in matte, silk, and plain finishes. It also accommodates oversized sheets up to 48 inches via single-sheet feed and is compatible with various finishing configurations, such as booklet-making and hole punching. The system comes with the Xerox EX IJP900 Print Server powered by Fiery, which is designed to deliver consistent colour accuracy and simplify workflows.

The IJP900 will make its public debut at Printing United in Orlando, Florida, from October 22 to 24, 2025. Initial availability is in North America, with further regional rollouts expected to follow.
