Hampshire-based TheMPC has  purchased a new Canon ImagePress C810, Duplo DBM-150 bookletmaker and Duplo DC-618 multi finisher via ASL Group, as part of a major investment in bringing production in-house.

The marketing production company recently built its own print production facility to bring work in-house, purchasing a wide range of digital printing and finishing equipment to suit multiple applications.

Paul Marsh, managing director of TheMPC, said, ‘This investment into a 10,000sqm production facility with in-house studio and new equipment from a blank sheet of paper means that we can bring the majority of our customer work in-house, keep the quality consistent and turn the job around much faster. We have a broad range of clients from Start-ups through to established global brands and everything in-between.

‘Through ASL we chose the Duplo DC-618 slitter/cutter/creaser as we felt this was the best machine in the market to achieve our vision of an end-to-end fully automated print facility. The DBM-150 was chosen as an entry-level booklet maker but stood out against the competition with its flexibility on size and number of pages.

‘The Duplo automation was key to our decision-making process; this along with our other investments provides us with considerable output requiring limited human interaction. The equipment has given us the ability to manufacture 100% in-house from start to finish, giving us complete control over costs, timings and services to our clients, giving us the ability to reduce production lead-times significantly whilst improving finished quality. We’re hoping that the new equipment will help us grow further and bring in business from new markets too.’

The MPC’s new print production facility also includes the Canon Imagepress C810 cut-sheet toner press, a Vivid Matrix metallic laminator and digital foiling machine, a Vivid Veloblade cutting table, a Renz auto wire punch, a Uchida VS25 Paper Drill, Roland LEF200 UV flatbed printer, Roland 540Spi large format printer, Easymount large format laminator, Dyss X5 CAD table, all run by 10 staff.
