Wide-format print business MacroArt has come out in support of the Women in Signs and Graphics (WSG) initiative, welcoming WSG co-founder Sarah Winterbottom to its St Neots headquarters to lead a session for the company’s female workforce.

Jointly led by MacroArt’s client relationship manager Charlotte Barham, the session saw the group discuss the history of WSG, why it is needed and its ultimate aims. The women taking part were also encouraged to provide feedback and share their own experiences as women in the signs and graphics industry.

The session came about after MacroArt managing director Michael Green heard about WSG and decided he wanted to get behind the  initiative. Mr Green commented, ‘Our vision at MacroArt is to meet our clients’ visions, and see our work ‘every day, everywhere’. To achieve this, all we need is talent and passion, and when it comes to recruitment, it really doesn’t matter where we find it. We would welcome the chance to talk with anyone about a career in signs and graphics. At MacroArt, it’s never about who you are, but what you can help us achieve. We value the support of WSG in raising the profile of women in our industry.’

Ms Barham added, ‘It was so informative and rewarding to learn more about Sarah’s initiative and how WSG is helping women find a career in our industry. At MacroArt, we are already reaping the benefits of this across all our departments, and we are glad to be able to support the initiative wholeheartedly. We look forward to more involvement in this programme.’

Finally, Ms Winterbottom herself put in, ‘It was a pleasure to get the opportunity to speak to the fantastic women at MacroArt on behalf of Women in Signs and Graphics. It was really inspiring to see their enthusiasm for the industry and great to see women excelling within all areas of the business.

‘MacroArt does a great deal to encourage and welcome all types of people into its team, particularly around supporting young people in the local community through apprenticeships, and this visit just further demonstrated its commitment to encouraging people regardless of gender, age, or any other demographic factors. We look forward to working with them more to support women in this great industry.’
