Canon has introduced PrismaPrepare Go, a Cloud-based job submission and artwork file checking tool for small in-house and commercial print service providers.

The software runs on the Microsoft Azure platform and is said to speed up the process of bringing in jobs, checking their print readiness and performing basic pre-flight checks.

Canon said that no IT expertise or specialised training is needed to configure, manage and maintain PrismaPrepare Go, and that users can be ‘up and running in minutes’. The application supports Canon production printers whether driven by its PrismaSync workflow, EFI Fiery DFEs or Canon PDL, as well as third-party generic JDF printers.

Joe Courts, head of product marketing, Document Solutions at Canon UK & Ireland commented, ‘It’s a daily challenge for small print operations to manage an increasing variety of short-run print jobs against tight deadlines, whilst also trying to attract and retain customers and stay profitable. By offering PrismaPrepare Go as our first SaaS workflow product, we’re making it easy and affordable for any print business to automate job submissions, processing and production, without investing in complex on-premise software or IT skills.

‘And for in-house printers, PrismaPrepare Go offers a new level of automation and professionalism and gives them time to add value to their internal customers through the development of new services. With low monthly subscriptions and no upfront cost, small in-house and commercial PSPs can now take a positive step to simplify processes, improve their service to customers, tackle errors and waste, and focus their resources on building customer relationships to drive growth. Automation just became accessible for everyone,’ he added.

The software includes a brandable customer-facing job submission portal that gives an instant view of incoming jobs, while print buyers or internal customers can submit single or multiple PDF files and additional instructions and track their status.

PrismaPrepare Go is available directly from Canon and its accredited channel partners immediately.
