Enfocus says this release is for 'the creators, the makers, and the builders.'
Enfocus has released Switch 2020 Spring, a new software package first announced earlier this year.
The Belgian company, a business unit of Esko, has dedicated the new release ‘to those who create the workflows that help print service providers build winning print services.’
‘This release is for the creators, the makers, and the builders,’ said product manager Toon Van Rossum. ‘Two of the biggest feature additions will make Switch flow creation more powerful than ever. Putting more resources into the hands of Switch automation creators leads to more integration flexibility, more custom development possibilities, and more opportunity for the fruition of ideas. Switch is being positioned as the epicenter for the automation revolution. Creators are free to rebel against the ‘out of the box’ solutions and truly build outside of the box automation.’
When writing Switch scripts customers will now have access to all available node.js packages available on NPM, which contains over 800,000 code packages, almost all of them are compatible with Switch Scripts.
Developers will also be able to use their preferred IDE. Instead of using the Switch Scripter environment to create custom Switch Scripts, they will now be able to use their preferred editor, debugger, and other development tools.
Another new feature is the Flow Viewer, which acts as a viewer and gives users the ability to add annotations includingremarks, questions and extra information, to more complicated flows ‘quickly and easily.’
