Roland DG has introduced the TrueVis SG2 series, a family of three roll-fed eco-solvent print-and-cut devices for producing vivid and durable graphics at an attractive price point.

Available in three widths, 762, 1371 and 1652mm (30, 54 and 64in), the SG2 models offer CMYK print to suit environments from entry-level to full production, with prints ready for lamination or other processing from six hours. Roland’s TR2 ink is claimed to offer a wide colour gamut for saturated graphics, supported by a True Rich Color software mode that enhances the more vibrant colours in images without affecting natural greys, skin tones or smooth gradations.

Operational enhancements include a new automatic pinch roller system requiring minimal operator intervention, the ability to provide highly accurate automated printing and cutting with or without crop marks, and a high precision perforated cut function for producing die-cut ready-made labels/decals that don’t need trimming. A new ink delivery system reduces ink consumption by up to 54% via automated maintenance.

Suggested applications for the new printers range from signs, decals and vehicle wraps to floor graphics and exhibition displays. Roland also says the TR2 inks offer ‘unmatched’ durability when washed, making them ideal for heat transfer print for branded sportswear, workwear and apparel. The printer and ink combination is also Greenguard Gold certified for indoor applications in schools and hospitals. For outdoor applications, they also achieve the 3M MCS Warranty and Avery Dennison ICS performance guarantee.

Kohei Tanabe, president, Digital Printing Business Division at Roland DG commented, ‘I strongly believe that by providing outstanding colour and versatility in three different sizes at an affordable price, the new SG2 series will appeal to large numbers of digital print business owners.’
