Marketing and print agency Datum has invested in Cloud-based MIS Keyline to automate its workflow.

Keyline will be linked via API to the Hatfield-based company’s Vpress web-to-print installation in order to fully automate job scheduling and production. Integration with a CRM system, Dropbox, business intelligence tools, a Ricoh C9100 digital press and a Xerox accounting system, plus various courier services, will be achieved via App Store modules. Datum produces a wide range of products from commercial digital print to complex marketing campaigns for blue chip retail and utility customers. These integrations are expected to reduce the time spent on manual administrative tasks.

Scott Pearce, managing partner at Datum, said, ‘We have been looking to fully automate our production with a Cloud-based system for some time now, and when we sat down and looked at the possibilities that Keyline would give us, it was a simple decision to make.’

He continued, ‘We are handling hundreds of jobs a day and with Keyline working in the background we can concentrate on the customer-facing tasks rather than worrying about all the manual production tasks that can take so much time.’

Wayne Beckett of Cloud to Print, Keyline’s UK and Ireland reseller, commented, ‘Datum had a very specific vision of the type of automation they required. They were using a home-grown system that was working, but was unable to take them to the next level. Scott and his team know exactly the direction they need to be moving and with Keyline’s API integrations we will be able to give them everything they need.’

Installation and setup are underway and it is anticipated that the system will go live by the end of February 2019. Mr Beckett reported that there are five other UK customer sites for the new MIS in various stages of progress, including Colourfast and C2 Group as well as Datum.
