HP Indigo certification has been awarded to the Mirri Pak Silver range of metallic paper and board. The newly certified substrate, called Mirri Pak for HP Indigo, is available in three weights: 220, 280 and 300 g/m2. These all have three stars for ink adhesion, printability and runability.

The certification is for the HP Indigo presses 5000, 5500, 5600, 7000, 7500 and 7600 through the speciality media evaluation process. It also certified for use with Color-Logic’s Process Metallic Colour system.

Mirri Pak for HP Indigo is a metallic substrate for graphical applications, intended to give a premium finish for a wide range of campaigns and products such as social stationary and gifts, premium direct mail, event invites, promotional items, photo books, packaging and short run book or magazine covers. Personalised printing using digital presses is a growth area, said Mirri.

Richard Gillgrass, managing director of Mirri and its owner Celloglas, said:  ‘Mirri Pak for HP Indigo is set to be an important part of the Mirri range, it’s early days and sales are already very encouraging on a global basis. Mirri Pak for HP Indigo has a speciality formulated primer coating, making it suitable for the HP Indigo range. This major innovation is one of a number of projects that we have been working on recently and we are very proud to be one of very few metallic substrates that have been certified.’

The substrate is made in the UK and available direct from Mirri. Easibind has now included Mirri Pak for HP Indigo in its new innovations range swatch, printed on its recently installed HP Indigo 560.
