The Lutterworth-based print business, which offers wide-format and small-format print, retail displays, point-of-sale materials and vinyl graphics, purchased the machine from HP distribution partner Perfect Colours. The investment forms part of the company’s strategy to broaden its service offering and target new business opportunities, particularly in vehicle and transport graphics.

The HP Latex 830W is capable of print speeds of up to 36sqm/hr in outdoor mode and supports media up to 1.63m wide. It also offers white ink printing, enabling production across a wider range of applications, including vehicle graphics, window graphics, signage and projects involving coloured or transparent substrates.

Sheron Cummins, managing director of Advance Print Solutions, said the company selected the printer after carrying out extensive research.

“It was the perfect fit for where we want to take the graphics department,” she said. “We have already seen the benefits first-hand, with increased capacity supporting our continued growth, and it has opened up new opportunities.

Ms Cummins added: “With strong connections in the transport and logistics industry, we are perfectly placed to support transport organisations with vehicle and company branding. This is an area where we are excited to grow as a business.”

The HP Latex 830W is the company’s first investment in HP’s Latex range. In addition to expanding its application capabilities, the printer also brings environmental benefits through the use of water-based HP Latex Inks, which contain lower levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) than solvent and eco-solvent alternatives.

Advance Print Solutions said the addition of white ink will help it diversify into higher-value work, supporting production of graphics for windows, signage and other specialist applications requiring opaque white output.

The company expects the increased capacity and broader application range offered by the new printer to support further growth as it develops its presence in new markets, including transport and logistics branding.
