The Linoprint CP

Specialist digital printing house Stroma has installed a Linoprint CP to improve uptime of the press and improve flat-line speed by 20%.

‘Reliability matters to us and the Linoprint CP has performed very well to date,’ said Steve Brown, managing director.

‘We’ve been solely focussed on digital printing for the past 15 years and we have had a series of machines over the years but with the Linoprint, we saw an opportunity to improve the quality and throughput at a reasonable cost. The Heidelberg click charges are very competitive,’ he said.

Stroma handles many perfect bound publications but up until the point they made this most recent acquisition they had been turning away numerous landscape format titles or using trade services with litho kit to produce larger format covers. Now that the Heidelberg Linoprint can print a 700 mm sheet length there is scope to bring this work in house.

‘We handle shorter runs and commercial work during the day and send the larger jobs at night. We really do make use of the larger capacity drawers and stacker on the Linoprint CP,’ said Mr Brown.

Stroma was set up to offer digital printing to London and the Home Counties. It quickly established a reputation for producing foreign newspaper titles in short runs and diversified into books, document management, on demand educational and technical media and posters. It aims to offer a fast, quality service at a competitive price.
