The timeline produced at Leach’s Yorkshire premises was installed in The Queen’s College’s Front Quad cloisters in Oxford

An 11-metre lightbox has been produced by Leach to tell the 675-year-old story of The Queen’s College, a constituent of the University of Oxford.

The timeline from 1341 to the present day was supplied by Yorkshire-based Leach, with the design, production and installation of the 11 x 2.5 m lightbox all carried out by the company’s in-house team in just one week. The flexible display system was then assembled by a two-man Leach installation team in 90 minutes, in readiness for 800 guests at an anniversary gala for old members and their families – managing director Richard Leach himself is a previous member of the college

Commenting on the reveal, project lead Anna Thorne, the college’s director of development said, ‘It was bound to capture attention due to the sheer scale of the installation, but the fact that it was carefully illuminated made it a real showstopper.’

‘Of course this is an institution that is close to my heart,’ said Mr Leach. ‘This was a great opportunity for the two distinctly different skill-sets to come together and show just what is possible with intellectual input, design creativity and product innovation.’
