Roland DG TrueVIS VG-640

The Colour House has invested in a Roland DG TrueVIS VG-640 from Grafityp. The printer was installed in July and has shown its strengths every day since.

‘We wanted to enlarge the width of our prints and Roland was the only choice,’ commented Anthony Roberts, managing director. ‘We were blown away by the quality of the prints; the depth of colour running six colours is phenomenal. We can now print signs in one go, with no unprofessional-looking joins, which is perfect for our clients in the house-building sector.’

The TrueVIS prints directly onto vinyl, banners, Contravision, frosting, wrapping, canvas and other substrates. The Colour House has used it to produce three full vehicle wraps since its installation among a plethora of other work.

For the last 10 years the company has depended on a Roland VP-540 printer for a variety of work. Therefore when the Merthyr Tydfil, UK business decided to invest in a machine that could offer its customers larger, seam-free prints, it went straight to Roland DG.

‘We bought the Roland VP-540 from Signmaster in 2008 and it’s still providing outstanding quality,’ said Mr Roberts. ‘It’s cleaned once a week and that’s it – Roland engineers have only looked at it twice in all that time.’

With two decades in sign and print The Colour House is a complete signage provider for many kinds of clients, but has made a name for itself as a specialist for the construction market. It counts major house builders including Taylor Wimpey, Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes, Linden Homes and Lewis Homes among its customers, for whom it prints large-format advertising displays, safety signage and more.
