Plus Print has expanded its wide-format production capabilities with the installation of an HP Latex 830W printer at its Dublin production facility.
The family-run print business, founded in 1985, specialises in lithographic and large-format printing, producing graphics for applications including corporate offices, events, galleries and museums.
Plus Print has used HP printing technology for more than 20 years, with the latest machine replacing an HP Latex 360. Supplied by HP partner NTI Digital Solutions, the Latex 830W was installed in May and joins an HP Latex R2000, installed in 2018, and an HP Latex 3100, which has been in operation since 2014.
The HP Latex 830W offers maximum print speeds of up to 36sqm/hr in Outdoor mode, supports media up to 1.63m wide and can print in up to nine colours, including white. It uses water-based HP Latex Inks and is designed for a range of indoor and outdoor applications.
Plus Print said the investment was driven by the machine’s white ink capability, print quality and environmental credentials, as well as improvements in production speed.
“We upgraded to the new machine specifically for its white-ink flexibility, superior print quality, and eco-friendly credentials,” said Plus Print production manager Marcin Markiewicz. “The new machine offers improved speed and print quality, and we are primarily using it for producing graphics for buses, vehicle wraps, posters and backlit media.”
According to the company, the installation has increased its production capacity and broadened the range of work it can handle, while supporting plans for future growth.
“We have been using HP machines for more than 20 years, so the choice was a natural one for us,” added Mr Markiewicz.
