PRINTING United Alliance has appointed Frank Tueckmantel as chief branding and engagement officer, as long-serving president Dave Leskusky prepares to retire from the organisation at the end of 2026.

Mr Tueckmantel joins the Alliance in a newly created executive role covering brand strategy, communications, audience engagement, digital experience and reputation. He will also provide strategic counsel to CEO Ford Bowers and work to align the organisation’s brand and engagement activities.

“The Alliance has grown into an unmatched platform of people, expertise, content, education, advocacy, media, and events; but the full power of that platform depends on how clearly and consistently we bring it to market,” said Mr Bowers. “Frank understands this industry, knows how to connect strategy with execution, and has spent his career creating experiences that bring people and business opportunities together.”

Mr Tueckmantel brings more than 40 years’ experience in the technology and visual communications industries. He previously served as vice president of corporate marketing at EFI, leading its worldwide marketing organisation, and has served on trade show advisory boards and the drupa Committee of Messe Düsseldorf.

He is also returning to familiar territory, having previously worked with NAPCO Media, now part of PRINTING United Alliance, as executive vice president of business development.

“PRINTING United Alliance has an extraordinary opportunity to connect its many strengths through one distinctive brand and a truly audience-centered experience,” said Mr Tueckmantel.

His appointment comes as Mr Leskusky prepares to conclude a 31-year career with the organisation and its predecessors. Mr Leskusky joined North American Publishing Co, later NAPCO Media, in 1995 in inside sales before progressing through senior roles, becoming publisher of Printing Impressions in 2002 and president of NAPCO Media in 2013.

He was involved in NAPCO Media’s sale to SGIA in 2019 and the subsequent combination of SGIA, NAPCO Media, Printing Industries of America and Idealliance that created PRINTING United Alliance. He became president of the combined organisation, working alongside Mr Bowers.

Mr Leskusky, 54, will officially retire at the end of the year but remain with the Alliance as a consultant until September 2027.
