Leeds-based Zebra Print Group is celebrating its 20th anniversary, two decades after the family-run print company was founded on 11 September 2006.

The business began at founder David Storr’s kitchen table in Aberford and has since grown into a £3 million-turnover company operating from a 21,000sqft facility and delivering thousands of print projects across the UK.

Originally established as Zebra Print Management, the company was created to offer customers a more personal approach to managing their print requirements. Its name was chosen by Mr Storr from the back of a dictionary, with the zebra’s black-and-white markings reflecting the company’s early work producing black-and-white technical manuals for Pioneer Electronics.

In September 2025, the company rebranded as Zebra Print Group to reflect its development from traditional print management into a wider print solutions provider.

The business is now led by Mr Storr’s daughter, managing director Samantha Overton, who took the helm following her father’s death in September 2024. During the 2024/25 financial year, Zebra completed more than 2,300 projects and reported 100% customer retention.

The company has also installed 88 solar panels at its Leeds site, capable of generating around 48MWh of renewable electricity annually.

Ms Overton said: “Reaching 20 years is a huge achievement for Zebra and one that means an incredible amount to me personally. My dad started the business from a kitchen table with a clear belief that great print should come with great service, and those values are still at the heart of Zebra today.

“We’ve been through an enormous amount of change over the past two decades, from advances in print technology and changing customer needs to our own growth and evolution as a business, but we’ve never lost sight of the relationships that got us here.

“I’m incredibly proud of our team, our customers and everything we have achieved together. For me, this anniversary is about celebrating where Zebra has come from while also looking ahead to the next chapter and making sure we continue to evolve, invest and earn our stripes for many years to come.”

The anniversary follows Ms Overton being named Manufacturing Leader and overall Leader of the Year at the Yorkshire Leadership Awards earlier this year.
