Hollywood Monster has named Birmingham-based mental health charity Better Pathways as its official Social Value Partner, creating a partnership designed to generate employment opportunities, skills development and community impact through commercial signage projects delivered across the Midlands.

The agreement formalises a long-standing relationship between the two organisations and is intended to strengthen Better Pathways’ ability to support around 130 people each week as they build confidence, develop workplace skills and work towards employment.

Through the partnership, projects delivered by Hollywood Monster will contribute to supporting Better Pathways’ vocational programmes, providing clients with a measurable social value element linked to their signage investment.

Better Pathways, which has supported people with mental health challenges since 1963, operates the social enterprise Better Signage from its Digbeth base. The business provides signage services to housing associations, construction companies and corporate clients, while offering training, work experience and volunteering opportunities. During 2024/25, participants contributed more than 27,400 volunteer hours.

The partnership was introduced through Birmingham charity LoveBrum and brings together two organisations operating within the signage sector. Hollywood Monster will support Better Pathways through industry expertise, commercial opportunities and practical experience. Participants from Better Pathways will also spend time at Hollywood Monster’s Tyseley facility to gain experience of commercial print production, project delivery and manufacturing processes.

Tim Andrews MBE, chairman of Hollywood Monster, said: “This partnership allows us to turn commercial success into meaningful community impact. Every project we deliver can now contribute towards creating opportunities for people who are rebuilding confidence, developing skills and moving closer to employment.

“Better Pathways has been transforming lives for more than 60 years. The signage connection makes this partnership a natural fit, but it is the scale and longevity of their impact that made us want to become involved.”

Sue Roberts, chief executive of Better Pathways, added: “This partnership will help us reach more people and create more opportunities. Whether someone’s goal is reducing isolation, building confidence, learning new skills or moving into employment, additional support from Hollywood Monster will help us expand what we can offer and increase our impact across the region.”

The partnership forms part of Hollywood Monster’s #MonsterImpact programme. Both organisations said they plan to develop the relationship over the long term, with ambitions to increase work flowing through Better Signage, expand vocational opportunities and support more people into sustainable employment.
