Xerox has introduced a new master brand for its production press range, launching the Xerox Proficio Production Series at PRINTING United 2025 in Las Vegas. The first models under the new name, the Proficio PX300 and PX500, mark a significant step in the company’s evolution in mid-production colour printing.

The Proficio brand, derived from the Latin for ‘to make progress’, signals a unified approach across Xerox’s production portfolio. The machines combine automation, imaging technology, and AI-assisted intelligence to improve productivity and profitability for print providers, said the company.

Aimed at the commercial and graphic arts sectors, the Proficio PX300 and PX500 are designed to deliver automation, colour consistency, and application versatility. The PX300 prints at 85 pages per minute and the PX500 at 100, offering flexibility to match different production requirements. Both models feature Ultra HD resolution and an optional fifth colour station, enabling beyond-CMYK embellishments such as fluorescent pink, clear, and low-gloss clear.

Performance modules maintain precise colour density and registration in real time, while also minimising static on synthetic materials. The presses are powered by the Fiery FS700X print server, designed specifically for the new platform to streamline workflows and increase automation.

“Market conditions and client expectations have shifted in ways that make differentiation and efficiency more critical than ever,” said Terry Antinora, head of product and engineering at Xerox. “The new Proficio presses build on our leadership in automation, colour science, and Beyond CMYK—helping print providers boost profits, stand out from the competition and expand their business.”

The new presses integrate with Xerox FreeFlow Workflow Software, XMPie personalised communications, and AI-driven analytics to automate job preparation, reduce costs, and enhance productivity. Regional rollouts and order taking will begin in March 2026, with shipments expected in the first half of the year.
