The Plockmatic Group has appointed Ed Hudson as general manager of its UK sales and service operation. This newly created role forms part of a broader restructuring aimed at streamlining the company’s sales and support functions across both inline and offline post-press solutions.
Mr Hudson brings a diverse background to the position, with over two decades of experience in the printing industry, including roles at Xerox, Océ, and Canon. More recently, he held leadership positions in environmental consultancy and the power quality sector, before returning to the print industry in 2024 as sales director at IBIS Integrated Binding Systems.

As UK general manager, Mr Hudson will oversee sales, service, and support operations across the Plockmatic Group’s product portfolio. The appointment also comes as the company moves to consolidate its UK business under the new name “Plockmatic Group UK,” merging the Morgana and Intec brands in line with similar integration efforts elsewhere in the company.
Mr Hudson commented: “Our UK client base is currently facing increasing challenges with higher employment costs, supply chain uncertainty and, in some cases, the fallout from US tariffs. We look to further understand our clients’ requirements and offer the best technical and most cost-effective solution in every case, helping them to find the right solution for their business, whether that’s an inline or offline product. Equipment includes the extended range of equipment from the Plockmatic Group including Morgana, Intec, Uchida, Summa/Valiani, GBC, Mohr, EBA, Citoborma, Hohner, Rhino-o-Tuff, Cany, and many more.”
The leadership change follows the early retirement of Ray Hillhouse, vice president of sales and marketing for offline products, who steps down after a 40-year career in the print industry. Mr Hillhouse, who joined Morgana in 2010, held senior roles at the company and later at Plockmatic. During his time, he contributed to acquisitions of Watkiss Automation in 2018 and Intec Printing Solutions in 2022.
