Mimaki Europe will introduce a new range of UV inks at Fespa, that are free from substances of very high concern (SVHC) and carcinogenic, mutagenic and reproductive toxicants (CMR).
Formulated to support stricter safety and environmental standards, the inks are part of Mimaki’s drive to deliver more sustainable solutions. As regulatory and brand pressure grows to reduce harmful substances in print materials, the ELH and ELS ranges aim to provide a safer alternative without compromising performance.
The ELH inks offer the same scratch resistance as Mimaki’s existing LH-100 inks, while ELS matches the flexibility of the LUS-120 series. Both formulations are said to reduce odour by around 30% compared to conventional UV inks, according to Mimaki’s internal testing.
“In recent years, demand for CMR-free products has been growing rapidly against the backdrop of increasing awareness for safety, the environment, and health,” said Arjen Evertse, director of sales at Mimaki Europe. “Being the first to develop inks that meet these concerns head-on demonstrates Mimaki’s commitment to developing products that are safe, highly functional and environmentally friendly.”
