Direct-to-object printing specialist Inkcups will introduce an update to its X5-T flatbed UV printer at this year’s Fespa event in Berlin. The new ‘High Throw’ feature allows for a greater distance from the printhead to the substrate. This enables high-quality prints on contoured, curved, or irregular surfaces such as mugs with handles and tiered drinkware.
Already capable of printing on objects up to 500mm tall, the X5-T’s upgraded capabilities are intended to support more complex promotional applications.
Hendrik Koemans, sales director at Inkcups Europe, said: “We’re proud to be introducing our ‘High Throw’ capability on the X5-T – much like our recently launched nano pin curing feature, ‘High Throw’ is a great example of Inkcups listening to and working with our customers to deliver on what they want to see from our solutions.”
Also on display at the event will be the XJET Switch flatbed UV printer, featuring a new high-speed white function for direct-to-bag applications, and the flagship Helix printer, equipped with nano pin curing to support printing on transparent cylindrical objects like glass bottles without requiring UV-blocking layers.
The company will showcase applications across drinkware, bags, spirits bottles and other promotional items, aiming to highlight the breadth of its direct-to-object solutions.
