Canon has introduced two new four-colour desktop printers, the imagePROGRAF TC-21 and TC-21M, aimed at a range of sectors including architecture, engineering and construction, retail, hospitality, education and design.
Compact yet capable of printing up to A1+, the new models offer enhanced usability and eco-friendly design, building on the success of the TC-20 series launched in 2023. Both printers support a variety of print media through a standard auto sheet feeder, allowing output from A3 to A6, as well as labels, postcards and envelopes. This versatility makes the devices suitable for applications such as CAD drawings, educational posters, restaurant menus, and promotional materials.
The TC-21M features an integrated A4 flatbed scanner and upgraded copy functions to enable users to enlarge A4 originals into A0-sized posters across multiple sheets, duplicate designs across a roll or single sheet, and composite layouts of scanned images for larger output. These functions can be used without a computer ‑ ideal environments such as schools and shops where quick, flexible output is needed.
Another new feature across both models is minimal margin printing, allowing output on roll paper with only 0.5mm side margins and no top or bottom margins. They also boast improved sustainability credentials by using recycled steel and resin in the printer body and replacing polystyrene foam with cardboard in the packaging.
Duncan Smith, country director, production at Canon UK and Ireland, said the new models meet demand for on-site large-format printing across multiple industries. “The TC-21 and TC-21M provide a cost-effective alternative to outsourced printing services, allowing organisations to produce high-quality materials on demand with minimal space requirements,” he concluded.
