This month Arctic Paper is introducing a 100 page guide to choosing and printing on uncoated papers, called ‘Art Workshop – The Munken Guide to Uncoated Paper.’
The company said it covers all the questions that could arise in the production process, that often need to be discussed in depth by the client and the printer. ‘Considerations regarding the paper feel, the shade, the bulk and texture, all need to be carefully thought-out, along with technical considerations such as lifespan, image reproduction and environmental objectives,’ it said. Making the right paper choices can make a difference to the effectiveness of the final printed work.
The guide is divided into four sections, dealing with paper, repro, printing and post-production.
‘The Guide will deepen people’s knowledge on how to handle uncoated paper to achieve the desired result,’ said Garry Colyer, managing director of Arctic Paper UK. ‘This covers everything from the most basic to the most advanced, and includes new and updated information. We know that it will be appreciated and used frequently for reference in discussions between printers and their clients.’
