Paper manufacturer Arjowiggins Graphic has committed to source the same volume of UK office waste paper it takes to produce the amount of recycled pulp at its Greenfield Mill for recycled paper sold in the UK.

Agnes Roger, president of Arjowiggins Graphic, said: ‘As already 15 – 25% of the waste paper used in the entire production process at our Greenfield mill is sourced from the UK, it was a natural step for us to guarantee to our customers that for all the recycled content of our papers sold in the UK we are sourcing its waste paper equivalent volume from the UK. This means that we will be limiting the impact of our papers on landfill, something that is especially high on the sustainability agenda in the UK.

‘At Arjowiggins Graphic we are dedicated to reducing our carbon emissions, rather than merely carrying out carbon balancing programmes, which is underlined by the recognition from the WWF’s Environmental Paper Company Index which rated Arjowiggins Graphic as the number 1 environmental fine paper company.

‘Our supply chain means that all transportation between the UK and France is limited, which plays a key part in our WWF Climate Savers commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 23% between 2007 and 2014, with a sub-target of 10% reduction for each ton of paper produced.’

The Arjowiggins Graphic brands manufactured from Greenfield de-inked waste are Cocoon 100% recycled, FSC recycled certified; Cocoon 50% recycled, FSC mix certified; Maine Gloss Green and Satimat Green 75% recycled FSC mix certified.

The company also offers an Environmental Benefit Statement to customers of its Cocoon, Satimat Green and Maine Gloss Green. This displays the exact environmental savings in terms of water, energy, wood, landfill and CO2 for any print job.

Cocoon is distributed exclusively by Antalis McNaughton and Satimat green/Maine gloss green distributed exclusively by Elliott Baxter.
