Digital Plus, the Leeds-based printer, has teamed up with Yorkshire design and communication company Inchpunch, to design, create and install the graphics for a newly opened exhibition.

The exhibition, Capital of the North, at the Yorkshire Museum opened this month. The museum, built on the ruins of St. Mary’s, a monastery from Medieval England, is being held in the basement medieval gallery.

Showcasing historic items such as the Cawood Sword, the Middleham Jewel and other items belonging to both Richard III and his mother, the layout, design and functionality of the exhibition was vital for presenting these items in a striking and informative way.

Craig Hymes, managing director of Inchpunch, worked alongside Digital Plus, the museum and its project manager to help develop the visual concept including its timeline theme to display some of the most prestigious and significant medieval objects ever found in Britain.

Simon Porter, sales and marketing director, said, ‘Given the high profile of this new and exciting exhibition, we had to ensure the branding and quality of print was to the highest standard. We were proud to be asked to help be a part of this extraordinary journey.’

The Capital of the North Exhibition is now open at the Yorkshire Museum, York.
